 Imam al-Sadiq (a):
By God! There is no [true servant or believer] after us other than you [our followers who are people of truth],
and without a doubt, you will be in high ranks with us, so compete
[each other] in [gaining]
the degrees

3rd October 2023 / 16th Rabi al-Awwal 1445

In the Name of Allah (SWT), the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful.

Salamun Alaykum,

It is with immense joy we extend Khushali Mubarak on the auspicious occasion of the wiladat of our Holy Prophet (saw) and Imam Ja’far al-Sadiq (a). On this auspicious day of celebration, we unite not only to rejoice but also to express deep gratitude for the unity and generosity that define our community.

We are pleased to announce a momentous achievement – through the unwavering support of our community, we have successfully reached our target for the Kadhimiyya Tile Project, an endeavor close to our hearts. This accomplishment, amounting to a remarkable US $3 million, stands as a testament to the countless blessings of Allah SWT and the guidance of the Aimmah (a).

The driving force behind this project was our commitment to the safety and well-being of the zawwar. In the scorching heat of Iraq, the previous tiles posed a significant challenge. With foresight and care, we initiated the process of replacing them with Thassos Tiles sourced from Greece. These tiles not only withstand the relentless heat, but also promise comfort for generations to come, ensuring the travellers’ safety and tranquility during their Ziyarah.

This achievement was made possible by the collective efforts of our community, spanning regions far and wide, both from the East and West. Each contribution, no matter how big or small, played a crucial role in reaching our shared goal. Your generosity will not only be reflected in the cool tiles beneath the feet of the zawwar but will also echo in the eternal blessings you have earned. We firmly believe that your contributions will continue to yield Thawaabe Jaariya, everlasting rewards, for years to come. Ameen.

On behalf of The World Federation, we extend our deepest gratitude to every individual who contributed to this noble cause. Your kindness and dedication have not only transformed a physical space but have also touched the lives of every individual who will walk upon these blessed tiles.

As we stand on the threshold of a new chapter, let us carry forward the spirit of unity, generosity, our spiritual bonding with the Ahl al-Bayt (a) and love that defines our community. Together, we have proven that when hearts and hands join in harmony, even the most ambitious dreams can become a beautiful reality.

With Salaams and Duas,

Safder Jaffer

President – The World Federation

Update – August 2023

The WF President – Alhaj Safder Jaffer recently undertook a visit to Iraq. Central to this visit was the opportunity to witness firsthand the remarkable progress of the Kadhimiyya Tile project — an initiative that seamlessly fuses artistry, devotion, and communal collaboration.

During this visit, Alhaj Safder Jaffer had the privilege of meeting with Alhaj Wisam Al-Ansari – Attaba al-Jawadayn, Alhaj Abdul Karim Laljee – The WF Liaison representative in Iraq and Alhaj Furat Al Yassin, the engineer overseeing the comprehensive restoration project involving the transformation of tiles to the Greek Thassos Marble. This undertaking holds paramount importance as it caters to the safety and comfort of the more than 10,000 Zawwar who embark on their pilgrimage monthly to perform Ziyarat.

The visit not only facilitated a direct interaction with the project’s supervisor but also provided an opportunity for Alhaj Safder Jaffer to meet with the dedicated team relentlessly working towards the completion of this initiative. This meeting was captured in a poignant moment, reflecting The World Federation’s commitment and the team’s unyielding efforts in bringing this project to fruition.

Update – 13th September 2022

The Kadhimiyya (Holy Shrines) Tile Project is well underway with the support of The World Federation. The team on the ground in the Haram of Al-Jawadain (a) has commenced upgrade works within the Sahans of Bab al Murad, Bab al Qiblah and al Quraish. The Shrine receives over 10,000 Zawwar each month; thus replacing the tiles with with durable Greek Thassos Marble will ensure their comfort and safety whilst performing Ziyarat.

The Sahan flooring and walls are being renovated over a surface area of little over 12,000 square metres. This renovation project costs GBP 215 / $250 USD per square metre, or $3 million USD total.

The total cost of the renovation project is $3m USD.  Alhamdulillah, with all your support, we have been able to raise $2.2m USD, and are in deficit of $800,000 USD to complete this project. Mu’mineen are encouraged in these blessed nights leading up to Arba’een to participate by purchasing one or more square metre(s) of the NEW Thassos marble flooring in benefit of their Marhumeen with the intention of earning Thawaabe Jaariyah.

The Al-Kadhimiyya Mosque is located in the Kadhimayn suburb of Baghdad, Iraq. The Mosque contains the holy shrines of Imam Musa al-Kadhim (a) and Imam Muhammad al-Taqi (a). Also buried within this mosque are the famous historical scholars, Shaykh Mufid and Shaykh Nasir ad-Din Tusi.

This mosque attracts more than 10,000 visitors every month! The Zawwar enjoy visiting the Al-Kadhimiyya Mosque – and it attracts more zawwar during the peak period of the holy months of Muharram, Safar and Mahe Ramadan.

As of recent, the team at Kadhimiyya Holy Shrines are embarking upon a project whereby replacing the current paving, which is made of granite, in Sahan Bab Al Murad, Sahan Bab Al Qiblah, and Sahan Al Quraish, within the Haram of Al-Jawadain (a).  The reason for this construction project is due to safety concerns for the Zawwar finding it difficult, if not impossible, to perform daily prayers and traverse due to the scorching temperatures in the sun, which in turn makes the floor very hot. Additionally, various cracks are noticeable which can cause injury whilst praying or can become slippery if there is a little moisture on the granite.

In order for the Zawwar to feel safe and secure whilst performing Ziyarat, the ground team at the Haram are embarking on a project to upgrade all flooring and walls to the more desirable and replacing them with longer lasting tiles with minimal risk by using the Thassos Marble.

This marble is of Greek origin and has high thermal conductivity and heat reflection (similar to the ones used in Makkah and Medina Grand Mosques) which would keep cool during the summer, and provide ease to the Zawwar whilst praying on the tiles.

In total, the surface area of refurbishing the Sahan flooring and walls is just over 12000 square metres. At only GBP 200 / USD 250 per square metre, this renovation project equates to a cost of USD 3 Million.

This will be completed in phases. The first phase is estimated to cost USD 1 Million.

The World Federation is humbled to be able to support and be part of the supervision of this incredible project & partake in Thawaabe Jaariyah (perpetual reward) and have signed an MOU with the caretakers of the Haram of Imam Musa al-Kadhim (a) and Imam Muhammad al-Taqi (a).

By purchasing a square metre of the NEW Thassos Marble flooring, you will be giving the perfect gift for your loved ones whilst also obtaining Thawaabe Jaariyah. For every zawwar that utilizes the tile, the opportunity of eternal reward is yours

Each square metre of Thassos White Marble flooring cost just £200/$250

This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to gift a piece of flooring in the name of your Marhumeen – towards the Sahan of Imam Musa al-Kadhim (a) and Imam Muhammad al-Taqi (a) and reap the rewards of helping future Zawwar pray comfortably whilst performing their Ziyarat.

An opportunity of Thawaabe Jaariyah not to be missed!
